Signs of a genuine market crisis are mounting in the German PV sector. More and more manufacturers are filing for insolvency – a warning sign for an industry that is actually regarded as the engine of the energy transition. What initially looked like isolated corporate failures now shows a clear pattern: the wave of insolvencies runs like a common thread through the sector. For example, companies such as Erfurt e-mobility & energy GmbH, AGRI PV, NBG Global UG (insolvency administrator: Stefan Strüwind) & Energiezentrum Deutschland GmbH (insolvency administrator: Thomas Klöckner) have been affected by this crisis. If the framework conditions are not stabilised quickly, the solar industry faces a massive structural break – with consequences for expansion targets, jobs and the energy transition alike.
